Example of Concocted Things in AV-13 Chap 12

Due to Bengalization

Note: This is the second letter on this discourse - "Parama Purusa Is The Supreme Shelter." The sound file was given in the first letter. Links below also direct you to that sound file. Many new points about the discourse - "Parama Purusa Is The Supreme Shelter" - are presented in this letter.

Namaskar,
Thank you for your interest in this important topic that deals with the purity of Bábá's printed books.

This letter addresses and reveals how the Tiljala Publications distorted key sentences from Baba's original Hindi discourse - Parama Purusa Is The Supreme Shelter - chapter 12 of Ananda Vacanamrtam- part 13/14 (English edition). Important ideas that Baba spoke in Hindi were not included in the printed English discourse. And what He did not speak they concocted and added false things. These points are completely new - details are below.

Wrongs Done by our T. Publications:

1. They ruined Guru's discourse by unnecessary double translation.

2. Our Tiljala Publishers are not giving you - the reader - Bábá's original words, rather they are giving you a tainted discourse in the book.

3. You have the right to have Guru's original teaching, which you are not getting.

4. We have provided Bábá's original sound file as proof of the issue; see and listen for yourself; do not believe on someone else's hearsay. (see note 1)

5. This whole posting unmasks the falsehood of the Publishers Note in Ananda Vacanamrtam parts 13-14.

6. As a result, the 2011 English edition AV-13/14 has been ruined.

Many Gross Errors - Sound File on Blog

From the very beginning of the discourse - Parama Purusa Is The Supreme Shelter - Ananda Vacanamrtam-13/14 (2011, English Edition), there are numerous mistakes, deletions, and inconsistencies compared with what Bábá actually spoke in Hindi. The sound file is on the blog for you to listen and download. So you can check all points noted below with the original sound file.

They Wrongly Printed Baba's Words

The publishers wrongly published Guru's words, completely undermining their meaning.

Example of Error #1

#1 Next is another example of a very significant error by Tiljala Publications.

(A) Here is Baba's original line in Hindi (in green):

[00:34 seconds of sound file - 00:40 seconds] ==>   एक समस्या का फ़ौरन समाधान हो भी सकता है, नहीं भी हो सकता है |

(B) Now see the actual translation of what Baba actually spoke (in blue):

A problem may be solved immediately or may not be solved.

(C) But look what the Tiljala Publications department wrongly wrote (in red):

A problem may be solved immediately or after some time.

(D) Now see the actual translation of what Baba actually spoke (in blue):

A problem may be solved immediately or may not be solved.

The main point is that all Guru's teachings are apta vakya - perfect truths. And those in Publications must be faithful to Baba's original discourse when rendering translations. But this they did not do. Due to Bengalization, they veered far off course. And, in result, what they printed in the English edition is not what Baba spoke.

Scan Chap 12 of Ananda Vacanamrtam 13 / 14 (2011)

As described above, the following sentences were wrongly printed in the discourse, and they are marked in red on the scan.

What They Wrongly Printed ==> A problem may be solved immediately or after some time.

How It Should Be Printed ==> A problem may be solved immediately or may not be solved.

Many More Mistakes, Errors, Omissions & Deletions

And not just these but there are many, many more errors throughout the printed English discourse, "Parama Purusa Is The Supreme Shelter" - chapter 12 of Ananda Vacanamrtam 13 /14 (2011 English Edition). And in the next installment we shall highlight those problems to bring awareness to the Publications Dept .

Summary of Publication Errors

a. Wrong Done by T. Publications:

   1. Bábá's original discourse is in Hindi (i.e. Tadekam Nidhanam Niralambam Iisham, given in Purnea, Bihar);

   2. The Publishers claimed it was in Bangla (i.e. stole & covered it up to give false appearance that Baba gave more discourses in Bengali):

   3. Discourse ruined by unnecessary double translation (i.e. Bengalization).

b. The Tiljala Publishers are not giving you - the reader - Bábá's original words, rather they are giving you a tainted discourse in the book.

c. You have the right to have Guru's original teaching, which you are not getting.

d. We have provided Bábá's original sound file as proof of the issue; see and listen for yourself; do not believe on someone else's hearsay. (see note 1)

e. Anyone can recognize Bábá is speaking Hindi. (see note 2)

f. This whole posting unmasks the falsehood of the Publishers Note in Ananda Vacanamrtam parts 13-14. Remember, this is not a language issue but a matter of authenticity.

g. As a result, the 2011 English edition AV-13/14 has been ruined.

Their Publisher's Note
Shows It as a Bangla Discourse, But It is a Lie

Here are more key points to be aware of:

I. Look what the publishers have written about this very discourse in their Publisher’s Note:

"Parama Purusa Is The Supreme Shelter". Discourse in Bengali. Tape. Originally published in Bengali as “Tadekam’ Nidhanam’ Niralambamiisham’” in Ánanda Vacanámrtam 13, 1980. Tr. from the Bengali by Dr. Aditya Kumar Mohanty. (Ánanda Vacanámrtam, part 13, Publisher’s Note, p. xxiii)

(Ánanda Vacanámrtam, part 13, Publisher’s Note, p. xxiii)

So in their Publisher’s Note they are making the incorrect claim that this discourse was originally given in Bengali. But this is wrong. (see note 3)

II. FACT: This discourse, Parama Purusa Is The Supreme Shelter, was given by Bábá in Hindi. They translated this discourse from Hindi into Bengali and then again from Bengali into English and printed it in the English book, Ánanda Vacanámrtam part 13-14, chapter 12 of the English Edition, p.91.

III. The printed and published English discourse does not match up with Bábá’s original Hindi which Bábá Himself spoke. The outcome is that instead of reading Bábá’s original words, readers are reading back to back concocted sentences that were translated from Bengali.

IV. This letter addresses a completely new point from chapter 12 of Ánanda Vacanámrtam Part 13-14 (English Edition). In the past you read about other issues, but this matter presented below is entirely new.

V. To make the English version in Ánanda Vacanámrtam, part 13-14, they translated the discourse twice—from Hindi into Bengali and then from Bengali into English. In so doing, they have ruined the English discourse.

VI. If any point is unclear, let us know so we can help you.

VII. Every Má́rgii needs Bábá's true discourse, not the concocted verbosity of so-called intellectuals of Tiljala Publications. And that only can happen if it is done from the original cassette. That why it is every Márgii's issue. This is not a Hindi-Bengali or a language issue; this is a universal issue. Remember: you are not getting your Guru's teaching properly. The things which you are reading in the book in the name of Bábá, that is something else. For more clarity, go on reading.

VIII. Read the below and it will be crystal-clear. Also be sure to play the sound (see note 1) and carefully review the published discourse. In the below letter everything is explained.

Incorrect Claim About Bangla in Purnea

Above you have seen the essence of what has happened. The Tiljala Publishers (TP) took a discourse given by Bábá in Hindi in Purnea, and claimed that it was given in Bengali. As proof of what they have done, we are including a scan of the Publishers Note in which the Tiljala Publishers made this claim. (see note 3)

Those familiar with Purnea are aware that the principle languages there are Hindi and Angika. With the exception of subgroups who migrated there from West Bengal, people in Purnea do not know Bengali. Bábá did not give any discourse in Purnea in Bengali.

It is vitally important that you listen to the sound file. If you do not know Hindi, please request any friend who does to listen. They will confirm for you that every word Bábá has spoken is Hindi, and there is not a single Bengali word.

Reason for Distortion:
Hindi Discourse Bengalized Meaninglessly

There are innumerable other serious errors in this very first paragraph, as well as in the remainder of the discourse. The principle reason for these errors is that the discourse was translated from the original Hindi into Bengali and then published originally in Bengali—as though the discourse had been given by Bábá in Bengali—in 1980. Then in 2011 when the first English edition was prepared, it was translated from the Bengali translation made in 1980. Translating a discourse twice will obviously cause significant loss of content, which is exactly what we find when we compare the original Hindi spoken by Bábá with this twice-translated English edition of 2011.

Discourse Translated Twice:
Evidence of Bengalization

The reason the Tiljala Publishers have made the English translation from the translated Bengali edition rather than from the original Hindi is clear: they want to show Bábá's discourses as having been given mostly in Bengali—when it is not at all the case. Such a falsification process is known as Bengalization: the systematic approach used to present Bábá as “Bengali” (rather than as Parama Puruśa, who can have no limitation of locale), and to show that Bábá knew and spoke only Bengali.

Scripture Must Be Universal,
Not Limited by Any Narrow Sentiment

We Ánanda Márgiis must express our voice and save our scripture. Today it is being encroached upon by narrow sentiments, and that will lead to its destruction. The scripture given by Shrii Shrii Ánandamúrti is dharma. It must be saved from limited sentiments at any cost.

Bábá says, "When the sole purpose of scripture, i.e. dharmashástra is to establish the human beings in the stable, exalted position of spiritual ideation, it must be practical, rational, infallible and universal. It must be based on deep eternal truths. It must be áptavákya. A scripture is a guided entity." (Tattva Kaomudii - 2)

Again, the purpose of this letter is to make Bábá's printed discourses authentic and dogma-free. This is not a language issue this is an issue of authenticity. The duty of every disciple of Lord Shrii Shrii Ánandamúrtiji is to keep an eye on the purity of Guru's printed books.

Namaskar,
at His lotus feet,
Gopal Roy Choudhary

Note 2: If you don't know Hindi, you can contact any private business translating agency also and confirm with them that in this sound file, Bábá is speaking Hindi and not Bengali.

Note 3: Click here (and then scroll down) to view a scan of the Publishers Note where Tiljala Publishers wrongly claim that in this discourse given in Purnea, Bábá spoke in Bengali.

Note 4: Bábá's rule is that translation is to be done directly from the original language, i.e. in this case from Hindi directly to English—which they did not do. So they disobeyed Bábá.

Note 5: Everyone knows that in the entire Ánanda Marga regardless of any group, there is only one Publications Department. The other groups are just shadows of whatever Tiljala Publications (TP) creates. The others merely copy and put their name on it. And other groups' leaders are not blame-free, rather double wrong. Their mistake is that they have hardly any interest on this matter. That is unfortunate.

Tiljala Thinks You Are Not Qualified to Read This

Tiljala Thinks

You Are Not Qualified to Read This

Namaskar,

Preview: An important 5-page section about the Semitic religions from the “Views of Other Faiths" discourse has been removed by the publishers. Guru initially gave this section in the 1957 book - Tattvika Praveshika - but the publishers have deleted it entirely from all subsequent printings of this discourse. 100% of that important section is now gone. The Tiljala Publications Dept thinks you are not qualified to read that section.

Below please find scans from the original printing approved by Guru, as well as a detailed account how the publishers have systematically removed this section from all of Baba’s books.

The Original Discourse:

Keep For Your Records

For everyone's records, here following is how that same section of the "Views of Other Faiths" discourse got printed in Baba's original Tattvika Praveshika book (1957).

The following are scans from the original section "Part II", of the "SEMITIC FAITH" chapter from the "TATTVIKA PRAVESHIKA" Book, pages 79 - 83.

(Note: If you have trouble reading these scans of the original, scroll down below the signature.)

Why It Is So Important

The above section - that has been removed from the books by the Publishers - is very important because blind religious followers can only be convinced by logic and reasoning, not brute force. And in these missing pages, Sadguru Baba has comprehensively detailed and outlined the key arguments with regards to the Semitic religions, i.e. Islam, Judaism, and Christianity. Every member of the Marga, every pracaraka, must be aware about these points to serve society.

But when the publishers of our own Ananda Marga books have removed the entire discussion about the Semitic religions from Baba's discourse, then how will we know about this. In which case, we will not be able to present the much needed logic and reasoning, given by Baba, in response to claims by these religions. Whereas with these points, every Ananda Margii will be able to properly address this important topic.

It is sad to think that Tiljala Publications does not feel you are worthy to have these pages.

The Publishers Cut Section

On Semitic Faiths From Baba's Books

As we all know each and every word given by Baba has deep import and meaning. His word is mantra, eternal truth, and the guiding light for the whole humanity. Tragically, the publishers have deleted 5 pages from this important discourse.
Indeed in the discourse, “Views of Other Faiths", the entire multi-page section about the three Semitic religions - Islam, Christianity, and Judaism - was completely removed.

This very section about Semitic Faiths does not appear in:
(a) the Prout Nutshell part 3 printing of the "Views of Other Faiths" discourse,
(b) nor in the A Few Problems Solved part 6 printing of the "Views of Other Faiths" discourse,
(c) nor in Ananda Marga Philosophy in a Nutshell series part 3 printing of the "Views of Other Faiths" discourse,
(d) nor does the key section appear in the 2009 Electronic (English) Edition of Baba's books,
(e) nor in any other book.

So in all the above publications, the publishers have categorically removed the section about the Semitic religions. But this section does appear in the Tattvika Praveshika book. And scans of those pages we have provided to you below.

Remarkably, in the Prout book, the editors reference the "Tattvika Praveshika" book as the source of the "Views of Other Faiths" discourse. What they fail to tell you however is that they systematically removed 5 pages from that discourse.

Now They Deny The Topic

Was Ever Discussed

Not only that, in the Electronic Edition (2009), the publishers deny the existence of this section of the discourse. That's to say, Baba graciously gave a 5-page comparison of the Semitic Faiths, but certain publishers have written that the topic was never discussed by Guru.

See here what the publishers wrote in the 2009 Electronic Edition: "the Semitic faiths, which are not discussed."

So Baba's original Tattvika Praveshika book (1957) contains a comprehensive section about Semitic faiths, yet that is utterly missing from the Prout in Nutshell version, along with the other titles listed above, including the latest 2009 Electronic Editions of Baba's Books, which denies that such a section was ever given by Baba.

The Present Distorted Version:

How It Looks

Here is the section from the Prout-3 discourse where they deleted the large section about Semitic Faiths.

---    PROUT NUTSHELL-3

In PNS-3 it says, "Besides these, the following three religious groups belong to the Semitic faiths - Muslims, Christians, and Jews". (PNS-3, Views of Other Faiths)

---  END OF PROUT NUTSHELL-3 PRINTING ---

So the above few words is all those editors of the Prout Book printed about the "Semitic Faiths" section of the discourse. Not only that, they deleted even this single line from the Electronic Edition of Baba's books.

Namaskar,
in Him,
Kalayanii

The following three religions are of this faith :--

      1. Muslim

    COMMON FEATURES

 1. Social structure of Muslims and Jews is similar while that of the
Christians is slightly different.
 2. Their scriptures are written in old Arabic and its sister language
Hebrew.
 3. None of these religions have any tolerance for others.

             COMMON FEATURES (CONTINUED )

 4. There is no philosophy in these and their way of thinking is only
theological.
 5. Sciptures of these are claimed by their followers as God's own
words and hence are unquestionable.
 6. Satan is a common fear in all the three.
 7. The belief in Eternal Hell and Eternal Heaven is a common feature.
 8. None of them believe in transmigration of soul. Only Protestants
are more liberal in this respect in their outlook.
 9. They all believe that sins can be excused by the Prophet or Paigambar or Avataara.
 10. All the three religions are based on faith that their scriptures
cannot be questioned. The supporters are fanatics and have no tolerance
for others.
 11. The source of existence of all the three religions is
exploitation of the fear complex of Eternal Hell.

Page 81.

DISCUSSION OF THE BELIEF OF THIS FAITH

 1. It is said that the scriptures are God's own words. They also
believe that God is shapeless. If God is shapeless how could HE have a
vocal chord which has to have a particular shape and without which
speaking is not possible. Then, either the God is not shapeless and has
a shape or He could not speak and hence either their God is not
shapeless or their scriptures are not God's own words.

 2. The reason and purpose for which God created the universe or world
is not clear in these religions. The only purpose which can be assigned
to creation of world according to these is that man should worship God.
But they also say that God is merciful. If God is merciful why should HE
want men to worship or praise HIM before giving HIS blessings. This is
only lowering God to the position of a common man and hence is not
desirable.

 3. Christ is said to be son of God. How...

---------

Page 82.

...can God have a son when He is shapeless and formless. This lacks in
logical justification.

 4. All these believe in the existence of Satan and that Satan tries
to undo whatever God creates. Thus Satan is something other than God and
is as powerful as God Himself. According to them there are two powers,
-- one that of God and the other that of Satan. Hence God is not all
powerful and has an equally powerful enemy in Satan and Ghosts or evil
spirits.  Existence of separate Satan is illogical.

 5. Satan's existence is admitted before the beginning of creation.
That is Satan is not created by God.  Satan is a negative force and
hence there are two Gods -- one good and the other bad.  They say that
God is omnipresent, but how could God be present where Satan is present?
Hence, the two beliefs are self-contradictory.

 6. According to the scriptures of the faith one must pray and one who
does not pray goes to Eternal Hell i.e. he can never get out of the
hell. This is illogical as no...

---------

Page 83.

...where it can be admitted that an individual's fate is sealed for ever.

 7. They believe that God created world but they have not explained
from what materials the world was created. Thus God and creation are two
different things. If world is not part of God then it could be part of
Satan but as it does not accept Satan as the nucleus of its physical,
psychic or spiritual orbit, it is clear that it is not a part of Satan.
Then there is a third thing out of which it was created. This means that
there were three Gods before creation. One the real God, the second
Satan and the third out of which the universe was created.

 8. The source of their existence is the common belief in the Eternal
Hell and it is exploitation of this fear, that these religions are able
to exist.

Therefore, it is clear that Islam, Christianity and Xionism are
faiths and not Philosophies.

--- END OF THE SECTION FROM THE ORIGINAL TATTVIKA PRAVESHIKA BOOK--

So it is a tragedy that none of the above about the Semetic Faiths appears in the Prout Nutshell version of that discourse. That is why many say that it was "taken away" by the Publications Dept.

Everyone is invited to give their thoughts also.

Namaskar,
Bhavanath
