Do not be misled by opportunists. The negative forces are trying to dissuade you from reaching to the bottom – i.e. the real veracity - of the story. They are presenting everything as rosy, but that is not the case.

In the discourse “Extra-Cerebral Memory”, Bábá has spoken mainly in English. (1) All the principal ideas Bábá presented in English, and He spent 55% of the time speaking in English. (2) Yet Tiljala Group has translated the entire discourse into Bengali, and treated that as the original.


Translated Bengali Edition Falsely Treated

As Original Discourse


Tiljala group has taken the liberty of translating the English discourse into Bengali, treating their self-written Bengali version as the original, and translating from their Bengali back into English for the English edition. As if the translated Bengali version written by Tiljala group dadas, were the original version given by Bábá.

This is a shady technique we call re-translation, and is used by those in-charge dadas throughout this discourse. Re-translation has the nasty effect of changing all the words in the discourse. Whatever words Bábá used in the original English were all translated into Bengali. And by the time the Bengali is translated back into English, nothing remains of the original English words Bábá used.



Proof of Re-Translation

So here is the proof, just make the comparison for yourself: we have placed Tiljala group's published English discourse below. And the "As-Is" transcription of what Bábá actually spoke, has been put on our blog for you to inspect. (3) And Bábá's original sound recording is also on the blog. (4) Compare what Bábá says to what they wrote. You will find that although both are in English, there is hardly a single line in what they printed which is just like what Bábá spoke. Every idea is reworded and the reason for it is that it has ALL been translated twice—English to Bengali, and then Bengali back to English.

Here below then is what Tiljala Publications printed. This is their latest version, published in Yoga Psychology. Now please play the audio file which you have downloaded. Pay attention to what Bábá says in English, and compare with the below scan. You will find that nothing matches. Bábá's every word is lost in Bengalization.

Please compare the above with the "As-Is" discourse (3), which has been transcribed word for word just as Bábá spoke that day 19 December 1978. Please also download (by clicking in note 4) and listen to the actual sound recording of Bábá's discourse. This is final proof of what Bábá actually said.


Example: All The Wordings Are Different
In Comparison to What Bábá Spoke

As an example, see the above scan of the discourse as published by Tiljala Group. Pay special attention to the section at the end of the second scan on pp.28-29, with the red border. This section Bábá spoke only in English and did not say at all in Bangla. So it should have been exactly as spoken by Bábá.

Yet compare this red-bordered section with the end of the actual "As-Is" transcription of the discourse, available for viewing at the link below. (3) The same section there has been highlighted in yellow. The subject matter is the same, but all the wording is different: Hardly a single sentence in the Tiljala Publications (TP) version uses the words Bábá actually said.

In this discourse, Bábá spoke para after para, so many things in English. And yet TP ignored this fact.


They Deleted All Bábá's Original English Words

The only proper way would have been to preserve Bábá's original English paras, and add the things Bábá said only in Bangla by translating those into English. But instead they deleted all Bábá's original English words and translated into English everything they themselves had written in Bangla.

Here below is the calculation of how much Bábá spoke in English, and how much in Bangla. By this we can understand that Bábá spoke 55% or over half the discourse in English. A mere 45% of the discourse was given in Bengali.

Total Words 1169
English         644 = 55%
Bengali        525 = 45%

Yet this fact, our Tiljala Publications ignored. Because of this, if you compare the "As-Is" discourse with the printed book, you hardly find any words which Bábá actually spoke.



What Bábá Says in English Was Removed

This is all done to paint the entire scene as though Bábá spoke only in Bangla. This is TP's black work of Bengalization. Bábá spoke over half this discourse in English, but they did not print His direct words. All Bábá said in English was removed.

So your impression that when you read the printed discourse you are reading Bábá's words-- this is not true. The printed words in the English book published by TP are the words of some Bengali intellectual of the publication department who took Bábá's English discourse, translated it into Bengali, and then again made that into English. This TP has done in order to fulfill their agenda of Bengalization. Judge for yourself.

Open Your Eyes –
Thieves Stealing Your Guru's Teachings


General Márgiis are simple and honest, so they assume others are as well, and they trust what Tiljala group dadas say. For this reason it is needed to gently prod and ask, “How long will you continue in the dark? Open your eyes—thieves are stealing before your very eyes.” Guru's entire shástra is being ruined by these deceivers—open your eyes and see the truth.

How long will you remain quiet – speak out. Guru Shrii Shrii Anandamurtiji has given His guideline for you, but it will not reach you. Yet you have full right to have it. Again, I will say: How long will you remain quiet – speak out.

Here below is the "As-Is" Discourse "Extra-Cerebral Memory", given on 19 December 1978 in Kolkata.

Note: Bábá’s discourses were delivered orally. Speech patterns are different from the written word. Naturally then, when making the written version, certain words are not needed. Those words have been marked by curly brackets { }. That means every word Bábá spoke has been included in this transcription, but when reading, one should ignore the things which are in these curly bracketed {} sections.

Those bracketed sections have been kept intact as an official record. That way - when comparing with the original sound file - the "As-Is" version stands as a complete record of every word and syllable spoken by Guru.

Also note that square brackets [  ] in the text are used to indicate insertions by the editors. Anything spoken by Márgiis during the discourse, is also placed in square brackets. Such as ["बाबा, बाबा, बाबा !"].

Bengalization: Publication Hides the Truth

Namaskar,

Baba says---"When I prepare a discourse, I think only in English."

Sadguru Baba has told this in a Kolkata discourse. Be sure to download and save the recording of it, available at the link below. (1)

In that discourse, Baba tells sadhakas that He thinks in English. Here is further detail about the two sentences in which He reveals this fact:

In the first para of that discourse, Baba says-- "আমি ইংরেজিতেই ভেবেছি" ("I have thought the very sentence in English"). [time on recording = 3:30]

Baba then further explains, "দর্শন তৈরি করৰার সময় আমি ইংরেজিতেই ভাবি" ("When I prepare a discourse, I only think in English"). [time on recording = 3:50]

Now see, our Tiljala Publications printed this very discourse (see below purple) in Ánanda Vacanámrtam Part 6, and they eliminated these above two yellow sentences:

"What is jiṋána? There are two types of jiṋána: mundane knowledge or Apará-jiṋána and spiritual knowledge or Pará-jiṋána. Mundane knowledge may be defined as the internal projection of the external physicality. And Pará-jiṋána or spiritual knowledge is the internal projection of the internal or cosmic spirituality. This is all jiṋána.”
(AV6, Self-Realization Is the Real Knowledge. p.54)

So by this it is clear that our Tiljala Publishers wish to hide the fact that Baba thinks in English when He gives His discourses. Baba has given discourses in three principal languages-- Bangla, Hindi, and English. But regardless of which of the three he speaks when giving the discourse, Baba has revealed here that He actually composes and thinks in English. And that fact the Tiljala Publishers did not like to reveal, so they withheld it from the English translation of the discourse.

If the matter is not clear, please read  below:

One can see that in the above para printed by our Tiljala Publishers, there is no sign at all of the two sentences told by Baba in bold. Here again are the two sentences Baba spoke in Bengali, which are absent from the English translation:

"আমি ইংরেজিতেই ভেবেছি" ("I have thought the very sentence in English"). [time on recording = 3:30]

"দর্শন তৈরি করৰার সময় আমি ইংরেজিতেই ভাবি" ("When I prepare a discourse, I only think in English"). [time on recording = 3:50]

For those who know Bengali, here below is the "As Is" transcription of the first para of the actual discourse which Baba spoke:

"একটা হল জাগতিক জ্ঞান বা অপরাজ্ঞান, আর একটা হল আধ্যাত্মিক জ্ঞান বা পরাজ্ঞান | জাগতিক জ্ঞান---এর ব্যাখ্যাটা হল কি ? Internal projection of external physicality | এর ৰাংলা করতে আমার একটু অসুবিধা হৰে | আর | কেন আমি ইংরেজিতেই ভেবেছি | আর পরাজ্ঞান বা অধ্যাত্ম জ্ঞানটা হল কি ? না, internal projection of the cosmic spirituality | এ সৰ তোমরা ৰাংলা করে নিয়ো | কারণ দর্শন তৈরি করৰার সময় আমি ইংরেজিতেই ভাবি |" (As-Is Discourse 13 Dec 1978 Kolkata. Now compare this "As-Is" transcription you've just read with the version Tiljala Publications printed above in purple text, in AV6, Self-Realization Is the Real Knowledge, p.54.

So by this it is clear that our Tiljala Publishers wish to hide the fact that Baba thinks in English when He gives His discourses. Baba has given discourses in three principal languages-- Bangla, Hindi, and English. But regardless of which of the three he speaks when giving the discourse, Baba has revealed here that He actually composes and thinks in English. And the Tiljala Publishers did not like to admit this fact, so they withheld it from the English translation of the discourse.



Must Not Misguide Readers

Leaving Out Sections Opens Door to Dogma

Verily, to leave out certain sentences in the publication of a discourse, misguides readers. Táraka Brahma has given pristine, clear teachings. Leaving out sections opens the door to misinterpretation and dogma.

Bábá says, "If one is not able to give the people proper guidance, then at least one should not misguide them. One must not divert them from the proper path by exploiting the tender and delicate sentiments of the human mind. In the physical world there should be a strict controller as a shástra – and it is better to have a strong personality than a written book – but in the mental sphere the scripture and the person who upholds the scripture have equal importance as far as their utility and practical value is concerned. There must be an excellent and all-embracing philosophy, in which there should be no loophole in any sphere of mind as far as possible." (NSS, Disc: 14)

Please pay attention to the following quote - and in particular the yellow highlighted section. Here Sadguru Baba guides that Lord Shiva was of a white complexion.

“In those days the Aryans were fair-complexioned, the non-Aryans dark-complexioned, and the Mongolians yellow-complexioned. But Shiva was white-complexioned. His immense purity of mind was in perfect harmony with His white complexion. Regarding His complexion it has been stated kundendu-hima-shaunkha shubhra – that is, Shiva is as white as a kunda flower… as the lovely moon… as the glittering snow… as a conch shell. Hence the epithet shubhra kalevara [“one with a white-complexioned body”]. (1)

By the above guideline - see highlighted yellow section -  it is evident that according to Ananda Marga philosophy, Lord Shiva was of white complexion.


See how they wrongly depicted Lord Shiva

Yet see here below what the publishers have done. They have printed the book - Namah Shiváya Shántáya ‘95 Edn (E) - and on the cover presented an image of  Lord Shiva. Check your own edition - and look at the scan of the cover of the NSS book below: Lord Shiva is depicted with blue skin. But that is wrong according to Baba’s above teaching - highlighted in yellow.



So see the above scan - i.e. Lord Shiva’s picture. The publishers printed the book - Namah Shiváya Shántáya ‘95 Edn (E) - and on the cover presented an image of Lord Shiva. Look at the above scan of the cover of the NSS book: Lord Shiva is depicted according to the Hindu dogma of having blue skin. But that is wrong - see Baba’s above teaching - highlighted in yellow.


Giving way to the ritualism of Hindu dogma

Just as a reminder, the Ananda Marga "Namah Shiváya Shántáya" (NSS) book is one of the foundational texts of our philosophy. So this book has tremendous importance.

In view of this, it is shocking and unfortunate that the cover of the printed book NSS has for many years been an ideological blunder. They have given way to the ritualism of Hindu dogma and presented Lord Shiva’s skin in Hindu colour - contrary to Guru’s guideline in His NSS book (please refer to above yellow highlighted sections).


Dogmatic Hindu Depiction of Lord Shiva Is Used

Remember, the cover of a book is a representation of what it contains: A cookbook will present food on the cover; a book on ecology will have nature scenes on the cover. In this way, our book on Lord Shiva should offer a proper picture of Lord Shiva. But it is so unfortunate that a dogmatic Hindu coloured image of Lord Shiva was used on our AM book, which is directly opposite of Sadguru Baba’s teaching.

So we must not publish a book which portrays Lord Shiva’s skin in a dogmatic Hindu colour. Readers anticipate that the book cover is a representation of what the book contains: If the cover is dogmatic, then readers expect that the contents will also be dogmatic. So it goes completely against Ananda Marga ideology to print such a dogmatic photo which is 100% opposite of the teachings of Ananda Marga philosophy. See Baba’s above teaching - highlighted in yellow.


Recurring blunder: Due to Dogmatic Hindu mind-set

The NSS English version (1995) was the first to be printed with this dogmatic photo. When it came out, márgiis protested and opposed the dogmatic depiction of Lord Shiva. But the Tiljala Publishers ignored márgiis' concerns, and went on to print the NSS Hindi (1996) and NSS Bengali (2000) books with the same dogmatic depiction of Lord Shiva on the cover, showing Him with blue skin, i.e. Hindu colour.

So this is a very serious matter. An adhármic distortion of Lord Shiva's image has been printed on our Ananda Marga Publications NSS book cover, and it is brought to the attention of our Tiljala Publishers. But even then they have not cared enough to rectify the matter. Even if they could not reprint the English edition, but the matter was brought up prior to the Hindi and Bengali editions. So the book cover could easily have been corrected for those editions. Our Tiljala Publications' failure to make these above corrections is indicative of an apathetic and brazen attitude which is wholly inappropriate for publishers of our dharma shastra.


Two worst things ruin Author’s philosophical teachings

#1: Spoil that chapter or book by making it self-contradictory or aligning it with dogma;

#2: When due to sloppiness such a problem exists, readers will think the author does not know the subject matter.

These fatal flaws in our Ananda Marga literature are the direct result of the sloppiness and carelessness of Tiljala publications Dept. They are inexcusable. By these blunders, non-margii readers will not have great respect for the author - Shrii Shrii Anandamurtiji.

Then you will see all kinds of Hindu dogmatic websites projecting the image of Lord Shiva in this Hindu way. And our Tiljala publishers used that style of  dogmatic Hindu photo for the book cover. Please pay attention to the following two quotes - one highlighted in yellow and one in green. These quotes are from our Ananda Marga books, but, unfortunately, the yellow quote contradicts the green quote, and vice-versa.

According to Ananda Marga philosophy there are three worlds / lokas. These three lokas are purely of the mind; they are not something external.

In contrast, Hindu mythology preaches the existence of three other worlds: heaven, earth, and the underworld. Hindu believers hold that humans live on earth; devatas (gods) live in space, and demons live beneath the the bottom of the ocean in the underworld.

Our Ananda Marga philosophy does not accept this Hindu mythological dogma. But our Tiljala publishers have placed this exact Hindu dogma in our Ananda Marga books.

The overall idea of the yellow quote is that the three worlds of triloka are: heaven, earth, and the underworld. This is the gross error that has been made. See for yourself by reading the below yellow line.

QUOTE #1: Ananda Marga philosophy says, "The weapon which pierces sinners from three sides is called trishúla. In Shiva’s hand there was a trishúla (so He is called shúlapáńi) to strike terror in the hearts of the sinners so that they might desist from their sins and be forced to let honest people live in peace. And to control the sinners and bind them in tight bondages, Shiva held in His hand a lathi [staff] and a rope. He is controlling the psychic realm which sustains and nourishes the entire life-flow of heaven, earth and underworld – so He is called Triloka-nátha [the Lord of the Three Worlds]. And in this quinquelemental world, He clearly understands the nature and behaviour of each and every entity, so He is called Bhútanátha [the Lord of All Created Beings]." (1)

That concludes the yellow quote; now see the green quote.

The overall idea of the green quote is that the mind has three chambers (a) conscious, (b) subconscious, and (c) causal / unconscious. The Sanskrit word for three is “tri.” When the three minds are combined then it is known as triloka. This is the overall idea of the quote highlighted below in green.

QUOTE #2: Ananda Marga philosophy says, "Causal mind means mind in seed form, subconscious mind [subtle mind] means mind in sprout form, and conscious mind [crude mind] means mind in fully expressed form. In causal mind also there are possibilities of vibration. Causal mind is a part of mind but turiiya [a stage of purely spiritual realization] is not a part of mind. The combined name of these three states of cosmic mind – causal, subconscious and conscious – is triloka."(2)

That concludes the green quote. Now see the conclusion.


Conclusion

[A] The quote - highlighted above in yellow - says that triloka means: (a) heaven, (b) earth, and (c)  underworld.  Unfortunately they accepted and adhered to Hindu dogma. This is not our Ananda Marga ideal.

[B] The quote - highlighted above in green - says that triloka means: (a) conscious mind, (b) subconscious mind , and (c) causal / unconscious mind. This is correct meaning according to Ananda Marga philosophy.

[C] Hence, the above yellow and green quotes contradict each other. The yellow one preaches the ways of Hindu dogma and the green quote adheres to the dharma of Ananda Marga.

Every margii knows that Lord Shrii Shrii Anandamurtiji never speaks anything that is contradictory.

Bear in mind, our Ananda Marga books are sold openly in the public market; when non-margiis read this blunder they will not have great respect for Shrii Shrii Anandamurtiji. That is unfortunate and disastrous.

Note 3: No such thing as underworld

In Ananda Marga teaching do not support the existence of any type of underworld, i.e. a land or place that is under the bottom of the ocean. There may be some coal mines or other anthropological digging sites. But one cannot say that those places are the second loka.

If in your mind there is any doubt about the meaning of triloka, then please read Guru’s below teachings. Then any confusion will vanish.

“Now, what's the meaning of triloka, tribhuvana ? You have got a physical body made of so many elements, so many compounds. And we say it is [the] quinquelemental universe, composed of five fundamental factors...”

“And you exist in this realm of physicalities. This is one bhuvana. And, the subtler portion of the physical structure of living beings, when that subtler portion gets powdered down, is metamorphosed into ectoplasm, it becomes the mind. You have got a mind. And as all of you know, you are not the mind. You are the owner of the mind. So, your second existence is the mental world. Second world…”

“Your "I" is concentrated round your ego. And that pinnacled ego touches the astral stratum. So, that astral stratum is the third world. One physical world, another mental world, and another that subtle astral world. So, there are three worlds.”  (3)
