Distortion: AV1-15 Electricity

Distortion: AV1-15 Electricity

Namaskar,

Our Tiljala Publishers (TP) have printed/added a wrong thing, which Baba did not say. In the below discourse AV1-15, our TP wrote that “Electricity and the sun are things to feel only.” This is completely erroneous.

See the blunder of TP

Please see below in the scan of this very discourse AV1-15, exactly how it has been published by our Tiljala Publishers. The red underlined sentence reads, “Electricity and the sun are things to feel only.” Our TP has published/added the wrong thing, which Baba did not say. See below:

Please see above in the scan of this very discourse AV1-15, exactly how it has been published/inserted by our Tiljala Publishers. The red underlined sentence reads, “So electricity and the sun are things to feel only.” Our TP has published above, a wrong thing which Baba did not say.

Correct: “We see the operation and action of electrical energy through lights, fans, etc.” (2)

We Should Fix Bábá's Discourses - Now or Never

If we remain passive onlookers and do not fix the negative trends of introducing distortion into Shrii Shrii Ánandamúrtiji's discourses—if we do not bring the printed discourses up to the proper standard now—it will become impossible to change this in the future. And even if in the future some sincere Ánanda Márgiis will try, they will be treated as enemies. Because this is the way religion works: Today one cannot teach the devotees of Lord Krśńa that He has nothing to do with cows; they will never believe it. Although Ánanda Má́rga is dharma—not religion, but
in the same way as happened with Hindus vis-a-vis Lord Krśńa and the cows, Ánanda Márgiis will become used to the wrong teachings in our AMPS books and they will not like to give them up. They will think that whatever was there at the end of the twentieth century, that was the gold standard for all time. And it should be kept and maintained.

Ánanda Má́rga is dharma—not religion—but we will face the same opposition from within to change, when wrong teachings get established.

So we don't have any time: it is either now or never. The clock is ticking: If we do not get Bábá's discourses fixed now, it will be impossible to do so later. And that will cause bloodshed and more division on the basis of the various versions of Bábá's teachings and their explanations. History bears testimony to this, that all the religions have similarly broken into multiple factions, groups and subgroups on the basis of differences in scripture interpretations. Bábá wanted to eliminate such problems, and that is why Bábá's discourses are recorded. But unfortunately, those recordings are not being published properly. This matter is very serious.

Distortion in AV1-13: Bábá’s English section trashed

Bábá

Distortion in AV1-13: Bábá’s English section trashed

Namaskár,

Every sincere Márgii knows that when Bábá gives a discourse in two languages, He does not speak identical things in every language. So when publishing AMPS books, one should not depend on one language only. Unfortunately, in the following discourse “Leaving Bondage”, this very mistake has occurred. While giving the discourse, Bábá spoke in Hindi and English. Our Tiljala Publishers discarded Bábá's English section, then took only the Hindi section, translated it into English, and published it as AV1-13. By doing thus, one critical para which Bábá spoke only in English, was left out by them. And here it is below in yellow:

“You are all spiritual aspirants; you should know what is pásha, and how to free yourself from these worldly bondages. You are to do accordingly. And I know you will be successful." (1)

Our Tiljala Publishers discarded the English sections of the discourse, and published only the Hindi sections of the discourse in AV1-13. In this way, the key point of the discourse which Bábá has given in English and which is shown above in yellow, has been lost. Since then, so many editions of this discourse “Leaving Bondage”, V1-13, have been printed, but that critical distortion has never been fixed.

And like this, there are countless mistakes in our various Ánanda Márga books.

Conclusion

There is a need for all Ánanda Márga discourses to be re-transcribed from the original tape. Otherwise Bábá's golden teachings will remain in convoluted, incomplete form and many things will be lost. Just as what has happened here in this AV1-13 discourse (see the above yellow).

Namaskár,
In Him,
Shefali Chakraborti

Note 1. Please see below the discourse “Leaving Bondage” as published by our Tiljala Publishers in AV1-13. Note the red ‘X’ mark, where the above shown yellow highlighted passage should have appeared.

Please see above the discourse “Leaving Bondage” as published by our Tiljala Publishers in AV1-13, 2nd Ed. Note the red ‘X’ mark, where the above shown yellow highlighted passage should have appeared. The 2009 Electronic Edition exhibits the same defect.

Note 2.

Six English paras discarded

In this discourse AV1-13, Bábá has spoken a total of ten paras: Six paras in English and four in Hindi. Our Tiljala Publishers discarded all six English paras. They kept only the Hindi paras, translated them into English, and published this much only, labeling it as though it were the complete discourse “Leaving Bondage” AV1-13.

Note 3.

Story of police & dead child

It is like a thief who stole a box off a train. In the process of escaping with the box he got caught by the police. Upon their questioning he insisted it was his own box. The police proceeded to open the box and found inside the dead body of a murdered child. So now the thief has trapped himself in a murder. The police had asked him if the box was his and he swore it was. Now he is trapped.

This is the situation of H group. With eyes closed, they are printing all the books of B group. When they will wake up, no one knows. But one thing is true, that these people are taking upon themselves full responsibility for the mistakes of the B group Publishers by putting their own name on the same publications. In a way they are involving themselves in the same sin. Otherwise, why haven’t they or why don’t they transcribe the discourse from the original discourse and print it anew on their own?

Having claimed credit as the publisher, they are now getting caught red-handed as the creators of distortion-filled discourses.

Note 4. Lame Excuse:

“Oh, what can we do? The audio cassette was stolen."

Bábá says, where one is being pointed out for a mistake, "If there is even a little fault in you, you should keep your mouth closed and accept it all, and you should thank the person for pointing our your fault and request punishment." (2) But instead of accepting their mistake, TP may give the preposterous and lame excuse that, "Oh, what can we do? The audio cassette was stolen." So watch out. Everybody knows that they are sitting on the treasure of all Bábá’s video and audio. The archive is in the control of B group. But even then, B group is ready to spread lies. So be ready to hear this, that-- "Oh, what can we do? The audio cassette was stolen."

Bábá says, where one is being pointed out for a mistake, "If there is even a little fault in you, you should keep your mouth closed and accept it all, and you should thank the person for pointing our your fault and request punishment." (2)

Distortion in AV3, Ch-20: Contradiction

Bábá

Distortion in AV3, Ch-20: Contradiction

Namaskár,

Please pay attention to the following two quotes from Ánanda Vacanámrtam part 3, Chapter 20, page 96.

Please see one quote highlighted in yellow and one in green. These quotes are from the same page (page 96) in our AM book, but, unfortunately, the yellow quote contradicts the green quote.

Yellow is Correct, Green is False

QUOTE #1: Tiljala Publications Printed in AV-3, Ch-20, p.96: “Similarly, in the field of consonants, the first one is “ka”. Why is “ka” the first consonant? Because “ka” is the acoustic root of objectivated Brahma, or Kárya Brahma, the effected form of creation.” [1]

That concludes the yellow quote; it says that the letter “ka” is the acoustic root of Kárya Brahma, Objectivated Brahma.

Now see the green quote below. It is from the very same para as the yellow quote, but unfortunately contradicts it completely. It says the letter “ka” is the acoustic root of Kárańa Brahma, Causal Brahma.

So remember-- in the above yellow quote it says that “ka” is the acoustic root of Kárya Brahma, Objectivated Brahma. And the green quote says just the opposite-- that “ka” is the acoustic root of Kárańa Brahma, Causal Brahma. Please read below.

QUOTE #2: Tiljala Publications Printed in AV-3, Ch-20, p.96: “The sound of creation is “a”, and the first sound emanating from that created being is “ka”; that’s why “ka” is the first consonant, Kárańa Brahma.” [Causal Brahma] [2]

So in the above two quotes you have seen that the yellow and green contradict each other. In the yellow quote it says that the letter “ka” is the sound of Objectivated Brahma. And in the green it says that letter “ka” is the sound of Causal Brahma. That’s why they are contradictory. Because objectivated Brahma and Causal Brahma are not the same thing.

Correct: “ka” is the Sound of Kárya Brahma

Seeing the number of words affected it may appear small, but according to Ánanda Márga philosophy it is a serious blunder. According to Bábá’s correct teaching, ka is the sound of Kárya Brahma.

Again, remember-- in the yellow quote it says that “ka” is the sound of Objectivated Brahma. And the green quote says just the opposite-- that “ka” is the sound of Causal Brahma.

Please see below a scan of the actual distorted text from the book AV part 3, Ch 20, p.96. The distorted section is colored in the same yellow and green as seen above:

AV-3, Ch-20, p.96 [w-color].jpg

Conclusion

Every margii knows that Lord Shrii Shrii Ánandamúrtiji never speaks anything that is contradictory.

Bear in mind, our Ánanda Márga books are sold openly in the public market; when Non-Márgiis read this blunder they will not have great respect for Shrii Shrii Ánandamúrtiji. That is unfortunate.

Namaskar,
at His lotus feet,
Mamata Basu

Note 1: The two worst things to ruin a book

Here is the worst thing anyone can do to any chapter or book:

#1: Spoil that chapter or book by making it self-contradictory;

#2: Due to sloppiness such a contradiction arises in the text, readers will think the writer does not know the subject matter.

These fatal flaws in our Ánanda Márga literature are the direct result of the sloppiness and carelessness of Tiljla publications Dept. They are inexcusable. By these blunders, they have ruined the status of Shrii Shrii Ánandamúrtiji.

Purity of Bábá’s teachings is vital

Verily, to change words in the publication of a discourse, alters the meaning and misguides readers. Táraka Brahma has given pristine, clear teachings. Mis-transcription leading to self-contradiction in the text, and double translation with resultant distortion-- both of these open the door to misinterpretation and dogma.

Bábá says,

"In the spiritual world, there should not be anything which will divert human beings from the path of synthesis to that of analysis, which will provoke divisive tendencies and restrict collective existence within narrow confines.”

“Nothing should ensnare people in the illusory net of pettiness in any sphere of life, from the general code of spiritual conduct to the universal and eternal principles of life – lest the voracious fangs of the all-consuming Máyá devour them. Thus the scriptures containing spiritual injunctions must be totally flawless.” (3)
