Distortion: flaw in Ánanda Márga books

Bábá

Distortion: flaw in Ánanda Márga books

Namaskar,

In the world there are various religions, and most of the time their members pray to God. And they encourage others that everyone should pray. Due to this, those who pray think they are great dharmikas. But according to Ánanda Márga philosophy, it is just the opposite; prayer is very bad. Because prayer means, "Hey, Parama Puruśa, you forgot your duty to give me what I need. That's why I am reminding you to give me those things."

Prayer toadyism is very bad thing

You know, according to Ánanda Márga philosophy, prayer is just accusing Parama Puruśa, who is our wellwisher. And whatever we need, about that He knows more than we. And He provides the needful. We don't even know what our real needs are. Because we don't know what is going to happen after one second. Whether we need some burial place or a fancy car, we don't know which of the two is appropriate for the coming moment.

The key point is that in Ánanda Márga philosophy, prayer is looked upon as a very bad thing. Now see, in Ánanda Sútram Bábá condemns prayer:

"3-11. Prárthanárcaná mátraeva bhramamúlam." (1)

"Purport: It is useless to pray to God for something, for He is sure to give what is necessary. Solicitation or importunity in the name of worship is nothing but toadyism and flattery." (1)

See the flaw, in yellow color

Now just see the below-- our Tiljala Publishers (TP) have done just the opposite of what Bábá is guiding in Ánanda Sútram. Please read the yellow colored section below.

Tiljala Publishers have printed in an AM book, "This is what we should pray for, and this is the reason that we should build Ánandanagar and help it radiate light to the universal humanity." (2)

(For full version of this above Bábá’s quotation, please scroll down to just above the reference section.)

Conclusion

When Bábá has guided that "It is useless to pray to God for something", and that prayer is an accusation that Parama Puruśa did not provide what it was His duty to provide-- then it is wrong to print such injunctions for prayer in our AM books.

Praying to God means pointing out God's partiality

“Prayer is the act of asking for a favour with earnestness. It also means a solemn petition addressed to the Supreme Being for certain benefits. One prays to God for something which one does not possess or thinks one does not possess. One asks God for these favours with the faith that He alone can bestow everything and by His mere wish all wants can be satisfied. By prayer or by begging one wants to awaken His wish so that one may be granted the things one lacks. Does not one’s attempt to rouse the wish of God to fulfil these needs, upon careful and rational thinking, appear to be a reminder to God to give one something of which God has kept one deprived? It would otherwise not be necessary to remind Him in prayer of that thing or to try to arouse His wish to give. For instance, if one is in need of money, one would, with the faith that God alone can give, pray to Him for the favour of giving one money.”

“Does not this request show God’s fault in keeping one in want of money, when He alone can give it? God alone is blamed for it, and by praying to Him for money one is precisely pointing out to Him His partiality in not giving one the money one needed.”

“Therefore, prayer or asking for favours from God is only pointing out to the Sole Giver His mistakes in the distribution of His favours. It only presumes lack of impartiality in Him, and that is why He is blamed for making some very rich and others very poor. Praying to God for favours is only to bring to His notice the charge of partiality levelled against Him. When prayer leads to such a conclusion, it is only ignorance to ask for favours.” (3)

Distortion: Fake Things In Ánanda Vacanámrtam Book (AV-13-15), H Edn, 1994, कृष्ण शब्द की व्याख्या - Sound File

The discourse - "कृष्ण शब्द की व्याख्या" ["Krśńa Shabda kii Vyákhyá"] - is from Ánanda Vacanámrtam, Part 13 (1994), Hindi edition, chapter 15

Addendum Sound File: Three Interpretations of the Word Krśńa - Hindi - AV13-15

The discourse "Three Interpretations of the Word Krśńa" was given by Baba in Hindi, 8 July 1979, in Ludhiana. However in the latest (2011) edition of AV13, the Tiljala Publishers printed in the Publisher's Note,

Three Interpretations of the Word Krśńa”. Discourse in Bengali. Tape. Originally published in Bengali as “Krśńa shabder tinti vyákhyá” in Ánanda Vacanámrtam 13, 1980. First English publication in Discourses on Krśńa and the Giitá, 2000. Tr. by Prof, (Retd.) Anil Banerjee, AVA and AAA. (Ánanda Vacanámrtam     (2011), part 13, Publisher’s Note, p.xxiv)

So the Tiljala Publishers are claiming Baba has given the discourse in Bengali.

Here you can download the sound file of Baba's discourse and listen for yourself. You will find that Baba has spoken in Hindi, not in Bengali.

Bábá

Distortion: false publishers page
(original Hindi discourse stolen & covered up as Bangla)

Namaskar,

Thank you for your interest in this important topic that deals with the purity of Bábá's printed books.

This letter addresses another discourse which our Tiljala Publishers (TP) stole and covered up as Bangla-- in order to falsely make it appear that Bábá gave more discourses in Bengali than any other language.

The published text of the discourse bears no resemblance to the words Bábá actually spoke. The discourse is Ánanda Vacanámrtam, Part 13, chapter 15.

TP loots one more Hindi discourse & adds to Bangla pile

This letter contains the following points:

1. Please download the sound file so you can better understand this issue. (See download link below in point #9)

2. Our Tiljala Publishers (TP) stole and covered up this discourse as an original Bangla discourse. But Bábá spoke in Hindi only.

This is a discourse given by Bábá in Hindi. TP stole the discourse and falsely named it as “original Bengali” on the Publisher’s Page.

3. TP translated the original Hindi discourse to Bangla, and then translated that Bangla version back to Hindi. And they printed that double translated Hindi in the book.

As a result, instead of reading Bábá’s original words in direct transcription, Márgiis are forced to read the concocted words of our Tiljala Publishers (TP). For purposes of Bengalization they have done this.

About the below scan

Following is a scan of the Publisher’s page-- AV-13 Hindi 1994 edn by TP. Please pay attention to point #4.

4.  See below the inside cover of the book AV-13 (H, ’94 edn) that falsely states "श्रीमती उर्मिला बनर्जी द्वारा बंला से अनूदित" -- "Translated from the Bengali by Shrimatii Urmila Banarjee". So our Tiljala Publishers claim that Bábá has given the discourse in Bengali, and this is the Hindi translation. Which of course is completely false. Because Bábá delivered this discourse in Hindi. And the sound file is the proof. By now you might have played and listened to it.

Above is the inside cover of the book AV-13 (H, ’94 edn).

Thirty-eight years have passed--no sign of any work to fix it

5. Bábá says, “The scriptures containing spiritual injunctions must be totally flawless.” (Namah Shiváya Shántáya, Disc: 14)

So as Ánanda Márgiis, we must take this very seriously and work together to make the printed version of Bábá's discourses perfect. By such examples as the above, it becomes clear we cannot merely sit back and expect that with time the Tiljala Publishers will fix everything. Thirty-eight years have passed since Bábá delivered this discourse in 1979, with no sign of any work to fix it going on. The Tiljala group whatever they spend all their time and resources on these days, if instead they had utilized these in fixing Bábá's discourses, then their efforts would have been worthwhile. When our Publishers are not doing the needful, then it falls upon Ánanda Márgiis to come forward, create pressure for change, and help in the rectification of our scripture.

6. By now you must have downloaded the original sound file.

7. Those who do not know Hindi can contact any private translating agency and confirm that what Bábá actually spoke is completely different from what TP wrote and printed.

8. If you are new to this network and you tried but are still not sure how to proceed then let us know. We are ready to help you.

9. Please download the sound file by clicking here so you can better understand this issue by comparing what Tiljala Publishers printed, with what Bábá actually said.

Namaskar,
at His lotus feet,
Kiirti Chakraborty

Note 1: The discourse - "कृष्ण शब्द की व्याख्या" ["Krśńa Shabda kii Vyákhyá"] - is from Ánanda Vacanámrtam, Part 13 (1994), Hindi edition, chapter 15.

Note 2: This discourse was published most recently in the 2011 English edition. And in this 2011 edn as well our Tiljala Publishers have continued the very same blunder-- “translated from the original Bengali”.

Distortion: AV1-17 The Term Radiation

Reply to: anandamargadiscourses@sunlink.net
BÁBÁ

Distortion: AV1-17 The Term Radiation

Namaskar,

Most Márgiis are well aware that our AMPS books are not printed in a very careful way. Bábá spoke something, and our Tiljala Publishers (TP) printed something else. Here is another example. In AV1-17 our TP have printed the term ‘radiation  which Baba did not say. See the below yellow.

Tiljala has printed → "How can vibrations emanate from the heart of a yogii who has closed all the ten doors of his person by suspending his propensities? Even if Náráyańa shifts His nucleus there, His radiation cannot unfold therefrom." (1)

Here below is a scan of the concerning page. Please pay attention to the red underlined section, where the blunder has happened in the book AV1, chapter 17, p.39.

v1-17 w-red line.jpeg

(2)

But Baba has never spoken the term ‘radiation in this entire discourse. Who knows from where our TP got this term ‘radiation and printed it in the discourse, AV1-17.

Now it is the duty of every sincere Márgii and WT, to fix Baba's discourses.

Namaskar,
Krishna Ganguli

Responsibility Falls to Ánanda Márgiis

By such examples as the above, it becomes clear we cannot merely sit back and expect that with time the Tiljala Publishers will fix everything.

Thirty nine years have passed since this discourse was given in 1978; There have been multiple editions published, including the 2009 Electronic Edition, with no sign of fixing the discourses going on. The Tiljala group whatever they spend all their time and resources on these days, if instead they had utilized these in fixing Bábá's discourses, then their efforts would have been worthwhile.
