THERE IS NOT A SINGLE SENTENCE
WHICH BABA SPOKE
Dear Márgii Brothers and Sisters
Namaskára
This is letter 5th letter in the series –
links to earlier letters and related materials are appended at
the bottom of this email.
In the discourse
“The Supreme Entity Transcends All Colours” (1), we have seen
that although Bábá delivered the discourse in English, the
Tiljala group unnecessarily translated the original English
into Bengali and then took that Bengali translation and
translated it back into English, meaninglessly. In this way,
they published the highly touted English edition in 2007. The
standard approach given by Baba is to directly print the
original English from His audio. But this they did not do.
For
your
verification the sound file is on the blog - see link appended
below.
Bábá's Original Words Lost
through Double Re-Translation
through Double Re-Translation
In translating Baba's discourse from
English to Bengali, and then from Bengali back into English,
many aspects of the discourse were altered; and, most of
Bábá's original words were lost. It will be interesting to
take a look at some of the specific words and phrases that were
altered or lost as a direct result of Tiljala group's having
unnecessarily translated the discourse into Bengali and then
back into English.
You have Baba's audio and you can verify
yourself so opportunists cannot confuse you.
SEE FOR YOURSELF:
THERE IS NOT A SINGLE SENTENCE WHICH BABA SPOKE
THERE IS NOT A SINGLE SENTENCE WHICH BABA SPOKE
Down below are the sentences from a
particular paragraph in which Bábá spoke about mental color.
The sentences are presented verbatim, exactly as Bábá said
them on the audio recording. You have the audio recoding and you
can listen to these sentences yourself. (If you haven't
downloaded the sound file yet, you can do so from the link
below. (2))
Compare each sentence which Bábá says
with Tiljala Group's printed version of the same sentence. You
will see that there is not a single sentence in the paragraph
that is just as Bábá spoke it. Rather, every sentence is
different: the vocabulary and phraseology are completely ruined.
And the reason is very simple: when one translates any sentence
from one language into another, and then again re-translates
back into the original language, the words and phrases are bound
to be ruined.
Compare Each Sentence For Yourself:
See The Difference
See The Difference
Here then are the sentences in which
Bábá spoke about mental color. Compare each one and see for
yourself just how different the sentences are. Not only are the
words different, the meaning is also ruined.
When we print the words of Guru, one has
to use the very words Guru spoke, and present the correct
meaning. But in these following examples both the word and the
meaning are wrong.
With this in mind, compare the sentences
below:
Bábá Audio (5:19)—“You
yourself, say your [mental] body, your existence, in your
existence, there are so many colors.”
Tiljala Group Printed in the Book—“Within your existential reality, there are
countless hues and colours.”
Wrong: The
phrase “existential reality” is not what Baba spoke and verily
no one is going to understand what is meant by this ambiguous
phrase. Thus it is wrong in both literal and philosophical
meaning and leads the reader astray.
Bábá Audio (5:29)—“A man emanating green color; that emanation of green color denotes that he is an intellectual.”
Tiljala Group Printed—“Suppose
a person’s body emits a green glow or colour. The
manifestation of green colour indicates that he is a person of
scintillating intellect.”
Bábá Audio (5:41)—“Emanating
red color, he has got no kindness; he is a man of cruel
nature.”
Tiljala Group Printed—“Another
person emits red. That red colour is the outer manifestation
of cruelty.”
Wrong: In
the above two examples, in their translations, they have
verily ruined the meaning and spirit of Baba's discourse. The
meaning is ruined because according to Baba colour denotes
mental colour - not colour of the body nor the colour of
something physical that is emitted by the body. In so many
discourses – even His Prout teachings – Baba describes how
every person has a psychic colour. Yet in their red
translations they have written as if the colour is something
physical that is emitted by the body. That is the gross and
shocking error the Tiljala Publications team has made.
Bábá Audio (5:52)—“Each and
every color represents a particular, what? Particular wont,
particular mental tendency, a particular propensity.”
Tiljala Group Printed—“Every
colour indicates a characteristic idea, psychic tendency or
propensity.”
Bábá Audio (6:09)—“But the
Entity that creates those colors, He is colorless. He is a
Creator of color; He is not under the bondage of color. And
that’s why we say He is, what? Avarńa. Varńa means “color”,
avarńa means “without color”. Varńátiita.”
Tiljala Group Printed—“But
that Reality, the Supreme Reality is devoid of any colour; He
has no colour because He, Himself, is the Creator. So I say
that He is colourless (avarńa) – He has no colour. He
transcends all colours.”
Wrong: Here Baba is telling that
colours represent the bondages and limitations of unit mind
and that Parama Purusa is beyond. Hence, He I colourless.
But this key idea that colour is a bondage or distortion of
mind is not given in the Tiljala section. Hence there is
incomplete and misleading, literally and philosophically.
Unnecessary Double Translation:
Bangalisation
In translating from the original English
to Bengali and then back into English, so much get lost and
changed along the way. The result is that what gets printed is
not Bábá's words.
Comparing these sets of sentences above,
you can see that in each and every one, the wording printed by
Tiljala group is completely changed from the original sentence
Bábá actually spoke. The wording is utterly changed, and that
is a serious matter when it comes to presenting Guru's
discourses.
As Bábá has taught, the word of guru is
mantra—“Mantramúlaḿ Gururvákyam”. When Guru's words are heard
or read, that has special value. To read words written by some
human doing translation for Tiljala group, this does not carry
the value of reading Bábá's actual words. The two cannot be
compared. In reviewing the sentences spoken by Bábá with the
words printed by Tiljala group, one can easily see that what the
Tiljala group printed are sentences they themselves wrote—not
what Bábá said. These are merely sentences written by some
human being, not Mahasambhuti.
The bottom line: Tiljala group cannot
claim that what they printed is Bábá's words. Bábá's words
are the upper sentences in each set. The lower sentences the Tiljala group unnecessarily translated
the original English into Bengali and then took that Bengali
translation and translated it back into English,
meaninglessly. This was all done under for purposes of
Bangalisation – otherwise what could be the reason.
Colour Means Psychic Colour – Not Physical Colour
As we all know, the common theme throughout Baba discourses is that the bondage of colour is a psychic colour – not a physical colour that is emitted by the body, as Tiljala group wrongly claims. No, these are colours of the mind and that is what distinguishes a vipra from a vaeshaya from a shudra from a ksattriya.
For those who are new, here below Baba
describes more about this clear-cut matter. It is shocking that
those in the Tilajala Publications could not understand this.
“I have already told you that the sentient
principle is white. So the people in whose minds white
vibrations are flowing we call Sattvaguńii or sentient (also
known as vipravarńa). The mutative principle is red. So those
people whose minds are filled with red vibrations we call
Rajoguńii or mutative. Due to the greater crudeness in the
mutative principle, the Rajoguńii mind is more partial to crude
activities than the sattvic one. Such mutative people are
popularly considered to be of the Kśatriya Varńa or warrior
temperament, possessing energy and valour. The sentient
principle is cognitive, and the mutative principle is energetic.
Vaeshyavarńa, the temperament of the business class is
concerned with activities much cruder than those of the Vipra
and the Kśatriya. Here the Citta or the mental plate is
dominated by yellow vibrations, which are created by the
combined influence of the mutative and static principles.”

the options is “download”. Be sure to download this file and
save it for your sons and daughters, grandsons and
granddaughters. Otherwise they will only receive the message
from Tiljala group that the discourse was translated from the
original Bengali, and gradually the dogma will be spread that
Bábá knew only Bengali.
