BABA

Another Blunder: Contradictory Discourses Due to Publications Mistake

This issue is complex so study carefully in order to understand. It is especially difficult for those who feel sympathy for the beliefs of the semitic religions. But for all those fully aware about Neohumanism, this subject will not be difficult.
Namaskar,
Please pay attention to the following two quotes - one highlighted in yellow and one in green. These quotes are both from our AM books, but, unfortunately, the yellow quote contradicts the green quote, and vice-versa.
In the semitic religions, it is the rule that what you wish your neighbor should do for you, that very thing you should do for your neighbor. So it is a kind of business. You are anticipating that the neighbor may steal from your house if you steal from his; in order to prevent this you refrain from stealing from him.
Or in another example, you want that your neighbor should help you in your difficult time. And now he is in difficulty, so you are helping him with that motive. But the Neohumanistic or sadhu mentality is that the neighbor is in trouble; my duty is to help him. I don’t think on i.e. am not concerned for, what he may or may not do for me in the future. But rather, I feel he is mine, I feel he is my own brother and so I must help him--his suffering is my suffering. See that there is a vast difference between both A and B feelings. [The A feeling is that of the Semitic religions and is found unfortunately in the below yellow quote from one AM book. The B feeling is that of Neohumanism, and is expressed in the below green quote from another AM book.]

The proper definition of sádhu according to Baba is, one who--- looks at others as one's own, and has feelings of sympathy and kindness for them, is a sádhu. But the below yellow quote says just the opposite. The gist of the below quote is, if you want that the neighbor should not steal from your house, then you yourself should not steal from his. Everybody knows that this is the religious dogma of a particular religion. It has nothing to do with Ananda Marga. Please see below the yellow quote, which expresses the defective idea: “Do unto others as you would have others do unto you.”

Yellow is False, Green is Correct

QUOTE #1: The following is printed in AV23, “Dharma Is Your Real Friend”: “Sádhu really means “one who abides by dharma”. Lord Krśńa says [in effect]: ‘Do unto others as you would have others do unto you.’ That is, whatever is required by me may also be required by others. This consideration for others is dharma, and one who acts like this is a sádhu.” (1)

That concludes the yellow quote; now see the green quote.

The proper definition of sadhu according to Baba is, one who--- looks at others as one's own, and has feelings of sympathy and kindness for them, is a sádhu.

QUOTE #2: The following is printed in Discourses on Krsna and the Giita, “Why Does Supreme Consciousness Descend“, “Every living being's own life is the dearest life to that being. Just as my own life is dear to me, so is the life of others dear to them. One who knows the truth and looks at others as one's own, and has feelings of sympathy and kindness for them, is a sádhu.” (2)

That concludes the green quote. Now see the conclusion.

Conclusion

[A]  The quote - highlighted above in yellow - paints an “I” centered worldview.  The beholder of such a worldview performs good deeds only because he wants the same to be returned back. People with such a worldview are unable to think about the true welfare of others.

[B] The quote - highlighted above in green - projects the idea of Neohumanism. A Neohumanist considers all other beings as his cosmic sibling. The sentiment for cosmic brotherhood causes a Neohumanist to have sympathy for all, be it other humans, animals, plants, or even inanimate objects. Such a sentiment is centered towards the “Cosmic I.”

[C] Hence, the above yellow and green quotes from two different AM books, are contradicting each other. The yellow quote states that one only need to perform good deeds with the motivation that it will be returned to him; and that such an approach qualifies one to be a sádhu. On the other hand, the green quote states that one performs good deeds because he feels a oneness and thereby a sense of sympathy with others. Such a person will not think about what the next person is going to do for him; just he will simply serve those around with Neohumanistic sentiment. So unfortunately, the yellow quote contradicts the green quote, and vice-versa.

[The A feeling is that of the Semitic religions and is found unfortunately in the above yellow quote from one AM book. The B feeling is that of Neohumanism, and is expressed in the above green quote from another AM book.]

So, the yellow quote is wrong. It is not our Ananda Marga philosophy. It is of the semitic religions, and has nothing to do with ananda Marga. But unfortunately it has been placed in our Ananda Marga published discourse, and that is wrong.

Every margii knows that Lord Shrii Shrii Anandamurtiji never speaks anything that is contradictory.

Bear in mind, our Ananda Marga books are sold openly in the public market; when non-margiis read this blunder they will not have great respect for Shrii Shrii Anandamurtiji. That is unfortunate and pathetic.

Namaskar,
at His lotus feet,
Bhakti

Note 1: The two worst things to ruin a book

Here are the two worst things anyone can do to any chapter or book:

#1: Spoil that chapter or book by making it self-contradictory;

#2: When due to sloppiness such a contradiction has been injected into the text, readers will think the writer does not know the subject matter.

These fatal flaws in our Ananda Marga literature are the direct result of the sloppiness and carelessness of Tiljla publications Dept. They are inexcusable. By these blunders, they have ruined the status of Shrii Shrii Anandamurtiji.

To Know in Depth--

If you want to know the detail about the above discussion, then please read below.

The overall idea of the green quote is that of neo-humanism as propounded by Bábá. According to Neohumanism, a sádhu is the one who has an intimate relationship with everyone because he considers all as his brother and sister. This feeling comes naturally to a sádhu because for a sádhu, Parama Purus’a is the progenitor of the whole universe and therefore all the members of the universe are His progeny. A sádhu performs good deeds because of his feeling of sympathy and kindness and not because he would like others to return the favor.

Note 2: If you do not have the book or discourse...

If you do not have the concerned book or discourses related with this topic then kindly write us and we will provide the concerning chapter(s) to you.  Also, if any aspect of this topic is unclear, then please write us.

Bring 4-5 lines of each quote and color the relevant part, to give one bigger perspective.

Tiljala Publications and Birbal Story

Baba

Tiljala Publications and Birbal Story

Namaskar,

Baba has said that all the languages are beautiful as they enable human beings to express the feelings of their heart. Therefore, there is no reason for anyone to feel conceited about one’s regional language or feel hatred towards any other language.

The publication work done by Tiljala Group contains many passages which show that they do not follow this simple yet profound teaching of Baba. In this setting Tiljala Publications (TP) has demonstrated their dislike of the Hindi language.

Let us take an example of the following discourse, "Treading the Broad Path of Spirituality", in which TP has shown their frank aversion to the Hindi language.

Story of King Akbar and Birbal

Below is an excerpt from their Electronic Edition (EE) publication of this discourse. Baba is telling a story about the King Akbar and his minister, Birbal. Tiljala Publications (TP) portrays Baba quoting Birbal replying "in Persian" to the king-- when actually TP has printed Birbal's reply in Hindi. This exposes clearly TP's extreme aversion to even simple mention of Hindi. See the below EE passage:

"There is a fine story to illustrate this point. Once King Akbar said, “Birbal, can you please tell me something which will make a happy man unhappy and an unhappy man happy?” Birbal replied in Persian, “Aesá din nehi rahega” (Such days will not remain for ever). This can be said regarding everything of the world."

Those who understand Hindi know that the reply from Birbal is expressed in Hindi not Persian.

Why They Called it Persian

Yet it is beyond reason why TP has printed that Birbal's above reply was in Persian. The only explanation is that TP could not tolerate the idea of even mentioning the word "Hindi" in their publication; therefore in spite of printing the reply in Hindi they mentioned Persian as the language instead of Hindi. So they printed the Hindi sentence--which Baba actually said in Hindi--yet labeled it as Persian.

When someone is consumed by hatred, it goads them to behave in irrational ways. That is why, consumed by hatred for Hindi, TP has labeled a sentence clearly written in Hindi as Persian. People are bound to notice the contradiction. Yet TP, intoxicated in their own negative vrttis, could not think this far ahead to realize the hypocritical nature of their writing and the fact that it would inevitably be exposed.

Namaskar,
Bhakti

Note 1: "Treading the Broad Path of Spirituality". 10 November 1978 morning, Kalikata. Ánanda Vacanámrtam Part 4.

Note 2: Baba actually gave this discourse in Bengali, in Calcutta. And this one statement of Birbal, Baba spoke in Hindi. Baba never said Birbal gave the reply in Persian; He simply changed to Hindi for this reply of Birbal. But TP could not bear to acknowledge the fact that Baba spoke Birbal's reply in Hindi-- so they wrote that he replied in Persian.

Dear Márgii Brothers and Sisters
Namaskár.

This is the 4th Posting on AV-1 Ch. 8.

In the discourse “मायामेतां तरन्ति ते“, आनन्दवचनामृतम्‌ प्रथम खण्ड हिन्दी, अध्याय आठ“ “The Nectar Beyond Máyá” (AV-1 Ch. 8), we have seen that Bábá delivered the discourse in English and Hindi, and did not speak even one word in Bangla, but TP declared it as a Bangla discourse, and TP unnecessarily translated the original Hindi हिन्दी into Bengali and then took that Bengali translation and translated it back into Hindi हिन्दी meaninglessly.

Then Sarvatmanandji’s stooge सर्वात्मानन्द जी के चमचे समन्वयानन्द जी Samanvayanandji, did this sin of ruining the Hindi discourse (see below, in Hindi AV-1 Chapter 8 p.16 scan). In this way, they published the Ananda Vacanamrtam Hindi Edition 1993.

The standard approach given by Bábá is to directly print the original Hindi हिन्दी from His audio. But this they did not do. For your verification the sound file is on the blog. (see note 1 below for download link)

Bábá's Original Words Lost
Due to Unnecessary Double Translation

In translating Bábá's discourse from Hindi हिन्दी to Bengali, and then from Bengali back into Hindi हिन्दी, many aspects of the discourse were altered; and, most of Bábá's original words were lost. It is disgraceful that most words were altered or lost as a direct result of Tiljala group's having unnecessarily translated the discourse from Hindi हिन्दी into Bengali and then back into Hindi हिन्दी.

You have Bábá's audio (1) and you can verify yourself so those who are busy in ruining Baba’s teachings cannot confuse you.

SEE FOR YOURSELF: Whatever Bábá Spoke In Hindi हिन्दी, Nothing TP Printed
Due to Bengalization, Most Words Altered

You have the audio recording and you can listen and compare for yourself with the below scan. (If you haven't downloaded the sound file yet, you can do so from the link in note 1.)

Compare each sentence which Bábá says in the audio, with Tiljala Group's printed version below of the same sentence. You will see that there is not a single sentence in the paragraph that is just as Bábá spoke it. Rather, every sentence is different: the vocabulary and phraseology are completely ruined. And the reason is very simple: when one translates any sentence from one language into another, and then again re-translates back into the original language, the words and phrases are bound to be ruined. Bábá’s original Hindi words are not included in the below printed discourse.

Open Your Eyes –
Thieves Stealing Your Guru's Teachings

General Márgiis are simple and honest, so they assume others are as well, and they trust what Tiljala group dadas say. For this reason it is needed to gently prod and ask, “How long will you continue in the dark? Open your eyes—thieves are stealing before your very eyes.” Guru's entire shástra is being ruined by these so-called honest monks of AM —open your eyes and see the truth.

Speak Out

Be sure to download Baba’s audio file (see note 1) and save it for your sons and daughters, grandsons and granddaughters. Otherwise they will only receive the message from Tiljala group that the discourse was translated from the original Bengali, and gradually the dogma will be spread that Bábá knew only Bengali.

How long will you remain quiet – speak out. Guru Shrii Shrii Anandamurtiji has given His guideline for you, but it will not reach you. Yet you have full right to have it. Again, I will say: How long will you remain quiet – speak out.

Namaskar,

Dear Márgii Brothers and Sisters
Namaskár

This is the 3rd Posting on AV-1 Ch. 8. In the discourse “The Nectar Beyond Máyá” (AV-1 Ch. 8), Bábá has spoken both in English and Hindi. (1) For your verification the sound file is on the blog. (see note 2 below for download link)

Mixed Two Stories Together And Ruined Both

In the below scan of Tiljala Group’s AV-1 book, the paragraph bracketed in red is completely wrong--- it mixes together two separate stories, thereby ruining the teachings in both. In the actual discourse, Bábá narrates in detail two entirely separate stories: one story about a bhakta and a jiṋánii in a mango grove; and then a second story about how bhaktas and jiṋániis treat cream and buttermilk. Bábá tells the story about the mango grove in 131 words. And Bábá separately tells the story about how bhaktas and jiṋániis treat cream and buttermilk, in 168 words. The two separate stories required a total of 299 words. But the Tiljala Publishers mercilessly cut short both stories and lumped them together in a mere 82 words, and in so doing ruined both.

In order to fully understand how badly our Tiljala Publishers mauled these two stories, please play the sound file (for link, see note 2). By this it will be proved that what is printed here below in the scan, is completely bogus.

Again, please see the above scan, in particular the paragraph bracketed in red, in which the Tiljala Publishers collapsed together two completely separated stories told by Bábá, wrecking both. In the above scan there are only two sentences for the mango story, and two sentences for the cream and buttermilk story.

By listening to the sound file of the discourse (see download link in note 2), you can see how the Tiljala Publishers completely ruined the stories, thus distorting what Bábá actually said. In this comparison between what Bábá said, and what Tiljala Publishers wrote, you can see how ridiculous the above red-bracketed section is.

Tiljala Publishers completely made up these stories with their own hand, and put them into the discourse in Bábá’s name.

3. In this discourse, Bábá spoke 60% in English, 40% in Hindi, and 0% Bengali. He did not speak in Bengali at all during the discourse. And yet it is written in Tiljala Group’s Hindi edition, “Translated from the original Bengali by Ac Samanvayananda Avt."

Here is the breakdown of words in the actual discourse given by Bábá:

Total words    893
English           535
Hindi              358
Bangla               0

"As-Is" Discourse "The Nectar Beyond Máyá", given on 13 August 1978 in Patna

Here below is the "As-Is" Discourse "The Nectar Beyond Máyá", given on 13 August 1978 in Patna.

Note: Bábá’s discourses were delivered orally. Speech patterns are different from the written word. Naturally then, when making the written version, certain words are not needed. Those words have been marked by curly brackets { }. That means every word Bábá spoke has been included in this transcription, but when reading, one should ignore the things which are in these curly bracketed {} sections.

Those bracketed sections have been kept intact as an official record. That way - when comparing with the original sound file - the "As-Is" version stands as a complete record of every word and syllable spoken by Guru.

Also note that square brackets [  ] in the text are used to indicate insertions by the editors. Anything spoken by Márgiis during the discourse, is also placed in square brackets. Such as ["बाबा, बाबा, बाबा !"].

Distortion: 2nd Posting AV-1 Ch. 8, False Things in Ananda Marga Books
Bengalization: Check for Yourself

Note: This is the second posting on this chapter 8 of Ananda Vacanámrtam part 1, “The Nectar Beyond Máyá”. The previous letter, which you received on 18 April 2015, was the first posting.

Dear Márgii Brothers and Sisters
Namaskár

In the discourse “The Nectar Beyond Máyá” (AV-1 Ch. 8), Bábá has spoken both in English and Hindi. (1) We have seen that although Bábá delivered the discourse in English and Hindi, the Tiljala group unnecessarily translated the original English and Hindi into Bengali and then took that Bengali translation and translated it back into English, meaninglessly. In this way, they published the Electronic English edition in 2009. The standard approach given by Bábá is to directly print the original English from His audio. But this they did not do. For your verification the sound file is on the blog. (see note 2 below for download link)

Bábá's Original Words Lost
Due to Unnecessary Double Translation

In translating Bábá's discourse from English and Hindi to Bengali, and then from Bengali back into English, many aspects of the discourse were altered; and, most of Bábá's original words were lost. It is painful to see that most words were altered or lost as a direct result of Bengalization. You have Bábá's audio (2) and you can verify yourself so “artists” cannot confuse you.

Most Important Issue Of This Letter---
Unrelated Garbage Materials Are Inserted In The Chapter

In the below scan of the Tiljala Group publication, please pay attention to the red-underlined sentences; the printed material which has been so marked is not spoken by Bábá during this discourse. Now you have downloaded the audio file; check it out for yourself. You will find that the underlined section, Baba did not say. The garbage has been added in order to befool the readers, that everything is done fine.

Both lines of text in the below scan which are underlined in red, those are garbage--not at all spoken by Bábá in this discourse.

When one prints the words of Guru, one has to use the very words Guru spoke, so as to present the correct meaning.

Due to Bengalization, Everything Is Ruined

I think you have already downloaded Bábá’s audio file and compared with the above scan. And you must have seen that most of Bábá’s original English and Hindi words have been altered. If you haven’t yet done so, compare each sentence in the above scan for yourself: See the difference.

Be sure to download the recording of this discourse (for link, see note 2) and save it for your sons and daughters, grandsons and granddaughters. Otherwise they will only receive the false propaganda from Tiljala group that the discourse was translated from the original Bengali, and gradually the dogma will be spread that Bábá knew only Bengali.

Speak Out

The era of remaining goody-goody and keeping quiet, is gone – speak out. Guru Shrii Shrii Anandamurtiji has given His Holy message for you, but the thieves don’t want to give it to you. Open your eyes. Raise your voice. The victory of dharma is sure.

Namaskar,
In Him,
Gopal Roy Choudhary

Bábá

Dear Márgii Brothers and Sisters
Namaskár

Distortion: False Things in Ánanda Márga Book AV-1 Ch. 8
Printed in Bábá’s Name

In the discourse “The Nectar Beyond Máyá” (AV-1 Ch. 8), Bábá has spoken both in English and Hindi. (1) For your verification the sound file is on the blog. (see note 2 below for download link)

False Definition of Bhavaságara on Page 14

In the below scan of Tiljala Group’s AV-1 book, the red underlined sentence is completely wrong--- against fundamental teachings of Ánanda Márga. The Tiljala Group wrote:

Máyá operated by Parama Puruśa is alone bhavaságara.

Please see the below scan, which is of Ánanda Vacanámrtam part one, chapter 8, p. 14, bottom half of the page. Please see the underlined section. That is fundamentally wrong. Remember, Máyá is not bhavaságara. Bhavaságara is a completely different thing. It has nothing to do with Máyá, the Cosmic Operative Principle. Bhavaságara means whatever a human being does wrong and creates negative samskára, that is called bhavaságara. This is one of the proofs that Ánanda Márga books are unfortunately full of errors.

In order to know what is correct, please play the sound file (for link, see note 2). By this it will be proved that what is printed here below in the scan, is completely bogus.

Again, please see the above scan, which is of Ánanda Vacanámrtam part one, chapter 8, p. 14, bottom half of the page.

Máyá and bhavaságara are not the same thing; they are not at all synonyms. And so of course, Bábá did not say this at all during the discourse. Tiljala Publishers simply wrote this sentence with their own hand, and put it into the discourse in Bábá’s name.

Speak Out

How long will you remain quiet – speak out. Guru Shrii Shrii Ánandamúrtiji has given His guideline for you, but it will not reach you. Yet you have full right to have it. Again, I will say: How long will you remain quiet – speak out.

Namaskar,
